your problem is that you did not check the "writable" permission on the file "guestbook.ini", set it to the same permissions as "guestbook.db", and it should work (writable for others or group)شش

My ISP only give us access to some but not all PHP functions :(
Does this package use a lot of advanced or dangerous PHP functions?

Well, it reads POST and GET variables, reads and includes from and writes to the file system (only selected files, though), and that is basically it.
I would not exactly qualify it as advanced... ;)
What is this? UTF-8 Mandarin or something?
